1. Spaghetti Bolognese

It’s a one-pot recipe that is easy to cook. Here are the ingredients:

Ingredients

  • Extra-virgin olive oil – 1 tbsp.
  • Brown onion (chopped) – 1
  • Carrot and celery (chopped) – 1 each.
  • Garlic (finely chopped) – 4 cloves
  • Beef mince – 600 g
  • Tomato paste – 1/3 cup
  • Crushed tomatoes – 2 cans
  • Massel salt chicken liquid stock – 3 cups
  • Fresh thyme – 6 springs
  • Spaghetti – 250 g
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) – ¼ cup
  • Grated parmesan cheese (for serving)
  • Chopped parsley (for serving)

Method

  • Take a non-stick saucepan, add oil, and place it on medium-high heat. Add carrots, celery, onions, and occasionally stir until onions become soft. Next, add garlic and cook until onion turn golden brown.
  • Add the minced beef and cook while breaking the minced meat with a wooden spoon until the meat turns brown. Next, add the stock, thyme springs, stock, and stir. Cover and bring the mixture to boil. Add spaghetti and simmer without cover until sauce thickens, and spaghetti is tender. Keep stirring the mixture after every five minutes.
  • Finally, remove the saucepan from the heat and take out thyme springs. Season it with black pepper, salt, and mix well. Top it with parsley and grated parmesan cheese.

2. Minced Beef Chili

The second recipe is minced beef chili. It is easy to prepare and delicious.

Ingredients

  • Extra-virgin olive oil – 1 tbsp.
  • White onion (chopped) – ½
  • Garlic (crushed) – 3 cloves
  • Tomato puree – 2 tbsp.
  • Chili powder – 1 ½ tbsp.
  • Dried oregano – 1 tbsp.
  • Ground cumin – 1 tbsp.
  • Paprika – ½ tbsp.
  • Cayenne pepper (optional) – ¼ tbsp.
  • Salt and black pepper – as per taste
  • Kidney bean (drained) – 400 g
  • Tomatoes (chopped) – 400 g
  • Mince beef – 600 g
  • Grated cheese, sour cream, spring onions (thinly sliced) for topping

Method

  • Take a large pot, add oil, and place it over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 5-minutes until they turn soft. Add garlic and cook again for one more minute. Next, add tomato puree and stir well. Add minced meat and cook until it turns brown. Drain fat from the pat and again place it on the heat.
  • Add cumin, oregano, cayenne, chili powder, black pepper, salt, chopped tomatoes, kidney beans, mix and bring to boil. Lower the heat and simmer the mixture for twenty more minutes.
  • Take it out in eating bowls and top it with sour cream, spring onions, or grated cheese.
