  1. Empty your oven by removing racks, oven thermometer, pizza stone, and anything that you have in your oven. Remove and set aside.
  2. Take a small bowl, add ½ cup of baking soda, and few tablespoons of water to make the paste. You can adjust the ratio of both baking soda and water to get the desired consistency. Make sure that the paste is spreadable.
  3. Wear gloves because your oven will be messy, and gloves help you to clean every inch of your oven without worrying about getting dirt in your nails. Next, spread the paste inside the oven surfaces and clean the heating element as well. As you spread and rub the baking soda paste, it will turn brownish, and it may be thicker in some places as compared to others, which is fine. Coat the oven with the soda paste and do your best, pay extra attention to places which messier and greasier. Allow the soda paste to sit for 12-hours or overnight.
  4. While the soda sets, its time to clean the oven racks. Take a tub and fill it with hot water. Add the oven racks and ½ cup detergent. Let the racks soak the detergent for a couple of hours. Take a brush and rub off the grease and wash with clean water. Use kitchen towels to dry the racks.
  5. After 12-hours, you’ll need a damp cloth to wipe the soda mixture. If the mixture has hardened, you can use a spatula to scrape the soda paste.
  6. Next, take a spray bottle and fill it up with white vinegar and spray inside the oven. Make sure to spray all over, the vinegar and soda will react and form a foam. Now, take a damp cloth and wipe the soda vinegar foam, you can use water if you want to clean the oven. Once you’re done, your oven will be shining.
  7. Now, it’s time to place racks back where they belong. That’s it; you’re done, you have a fresh clean oven.
