The year 2020 will go down in history for so many reasons and life has changed dramatically for so many people. The entire nation went into lockdown which even just reading that now is giving me chills and sounds like a film. But it actually happened. People couldn’t go out to work unless it was essential and social life became almost extinct. Unless you had technology at your fingertips, which thankfully so many people do now. So what does this mean for friendships and relationships going forward? Long gone are the days of meeting people in pubs and clubs. Social distancing makes it difficult to chit chat close enough to hear our music and even first dates can be a little difficult. With social bubbles and social distancing rules being changed all the time, we really have to think outside the box when it comes to first dates these days… and dating in general!
I love nothing more than getting dressed ready to go out, going for a lovely meal, getting to know someone and then the goosebumps at the end of the night. But how can we do that now we’re under tight restrictions? Well here’s how you can have that first, second or third date in the comfort of your own home and still give each other goosebumps by the end of the night.

Find The Date
A really easy and great way of meeting new people now is via dating sites. Whether you’re looking for marriage or a no strings attached relationship, there’s a site for you out there. You’ve got places such as www.nostringsdating.net which lets you find like-minded people, so you’re not disappointed with what people are looking for. There’s no shame in looking for a sex dating site, everyone wants something different and it’s just about finding the right place to look. A dating site can be safe and fun, plus you can chat with people from the comfort of your own home. The first thing you need to do is spend some time having fun and chatting with people. There are no rules on dating sites! You can talk to one person or 10. The choice is yours!
Make The Date
So now you have someone in mind who you’d like to get to know a little bit more. But social distancing means it’s not as easy as meeting at your local restaurant for dinner. So what do you do? Well, this is where virtual dates come into their own! That’s right! Go and find your favourite outfit because you’re going to have a video all date! You both join each other on a set date at a time and get yourself fully date ready to impress the other person. It might mean you have to make you décor look slightly more appealing than usual but that’s all part of the fun! It also means it’s easier to end the date if the person isn’t for you and you don’t have to worry about getting hope at the end of the night.

Create The Date
Here’s where the fun comes in. You both decide on the meal you’d like to have on your date, you both cook it and eat it during the video call. Just like a real date in a restaurant! Perch your phone or laptop in front of you, on the other side of the table. Glass of wine on one side, spaghetti in front of you (maybe not the wisest first date choice of food by the way) and you have a full-on date, just like you would in a real restaurant. Of course, you can cheat and get a takeaway, and we all know you’re trying to impress here, but the fun is trying to do it all yourself. It will also give you an insight into the other person personality. How fun they are, are they good at thinking on the spot, creativity, cooking skills… the list goes on!
The Food
As we said, spag bol isn’t the best option unless you want tomato sauce on your new outfit. We’d suggest creating a unique salad, design your own burger or even a tapas-style dinner where you can both try new things together. It really is a great way to be adventurous and try something new. You could even opt for something more fun like a dessert or even more seductive like juicy watermelon!
So get your best outfit on, bring your cooking skills to the table and set up an at-home restaurant good enough to make your mouth water, because date nights are well and truly back on thanks to technology.
