Directions
Follow the step by step process to prepare delicious doughnuts.
Step #1
Take milk and heat it until it’s warm, make sure not to boil it. Take a large bowl pour lukewarm milk and mix it with yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes until the mixture turns foamy.
Step #2
Crack eggs into the yeast mixture, add salt, sugar, melted butter, and half of the flour. Mix until all the ingredients are combined. Add more flour, and if the dough is too wet, then add two tablespoons of flour at a time. When the dough becomes thick, transfer it to a floured surface and gently knead the dough. Take a bowl and grease it with oil and transfer dough into the bowl. Cover the dough and let is rise at room temperature.
Step #3
Flour the surface and take out the dough, roll it to half-inch thickness, and cut the doughnuts with a cookie cutter or doughnuts cutter. You can also use a drinking glass and shot glass to cut the doughnuts. Make sure to flour the cutters as well. Reserve the holes of the doughnuts and don’t cut the middle if you’re planning to prepare filled doughnuts.
Step #4
After cutting the doughnuts, put them on floured baking sheets and make sure that there is plenty of space between them. Cover doughnuts with sheets or kitchen towel and let them rise until they’re puffed up. If your kitchen isn’t warm enough, you can use the oven. Heat the oven at 200, turn off the heat and place the baking sheets with doughnuts into the oven and leave the oven door open.
Step #5
Before doughnuts are done rising, pour oil in a pot over a medium heat and lineup plates with a towel or baking sheets and cooling racks.
Step #6
Now, carefully add the doughnuts into the oil one at a time. You can use a metal spatula if doughnuts are too delicate to pick. When the bottom turns deep golden use slotted spoon to flip the side. Cook doughnuts until they become deep golden. Once cooked, transfer the doughnuts to the plates with a towel or cooling racks. Repeat the step for all the doughnuts. Serve hot, fluffy, and delicious doughnuts.
